青少年考試壓力會過大嗎? 青少年情緒需要有跡可尋
踏入12月,不少高中生都開始密鑼緊鼓準備公開考試。除了要應付補習班,上學還要交功課、考小測、模擬考試等。香港學生升讀大學一般會先通過DSE考試然後再報聯招,因此DSE考試對不少考生來說可以說是非常重要的一關。青少年壓力過大的表現是怎樣呢?父母又可以如何留意到青少年的情緒需要?

公開考試為什麼是壓力源?
一般來說,長期壓力過大會影響到我們的情緒行為表現。而準備公開考試是長期戰,自然有機會是長期壓力的來源。我們遇過不少面對公開試的考生,他們對自己考試成績感到憂慮、擔心考試失手、升學與前途問題等,都一點一點累積成沉重壓力。同時,不少公開試考生會為了準備考試而犧牲休息時間與日常放鬆活動。在長期受壓與生活失去調節的情況下,嚴重的更會引發情緒問題,如焦慮症、抑鬱症等。
父母可以如何留意青少年情緒需要
青少年未必會直接把自己的擔心告訴父母,但我們可以從他們平日的一言一行(即對話與行為)了解到他們的情緒負擔會否過大。從對話方面,父母可以了解青少年子女會否對自己的考試表現與前途有負面想法。如成績尚可的子女,常常提到自己擔心會否於公開考試中失敗,就是反映了他的負面想法。
同時,在行為方面父母亦可以留意到青少年子女會否因壓力過大,而衍生情緒問題。如平日可應付返學與課外活動的青少年,突然失去動力,沒法提起精神去應付生活與學習,就可能是出現情緒問題的先兆。有些學生,在情緒問題的影響下,亦有機會害怕面對有壓力的情況,如學校小測,因而出現逃避行為。另外,我們的身體也有機會因長期受壓而出現原因不明的不適,與頭痛、肚痛等。
青少年子女即使不再是小朋友,與他們保持溝通也是維持親子關係與留意他們的情緒壓力重要的一環。在青少年子女走過公開考試的道路上,父母對他們無條件的支持也是抗壓要素。如果留意到青少年子女出現壓力過大與情緒問題,就應及早向專業人士求助!
